Still trying to figure out how to be a spaceship?

The farthest place in the universe may be right next to the closest
A minute in the mind can be an hour in our preservation
Almost like opening candy wrappers In class so no one hears
The seventh one to get picked out of ten in kick ball
The standard pro quo for space travel
A thread in the queens silk scarf
The gold frame on a galactic tidel wave
I'm just trying to figure out how to be a spaceship?

LO BAR-B-QUE

The Worm - train writing F' to Delancy

The worm slides slowly towards a distant bright light, the most beautiful color and glorious sound,
He moves never looking behind him with a certain focus that equals distance,
Most don't know where he's traveled from, most don't know how long the worm has been traveling,
The worm slides inch by inch toward what he believes to be his finish-line,
The worm moves at speed of cold honey getting closer and closer to the light, color, and sounds.
Without the world working around the worm, there would be no doubters of his journey,
Without the wind tossing thoughts and ideas... there would be nothing pushing him back as he excepts each thrust forward,
Without the sun beating life, hot air, and exhaustion onto the worms back... the race to his personal legend would not be so confusing and difficult,
As the worm gets closer there is no one around,
The thoughts one may have in a marathon may vary from night to day, some days harder than others, easier than sum,... tiring.
But for the worm the only thing to do is head towards the distant bright lights with their kaleidoscope of colors inviting harmonious sounds and peace,
So the worm inches slowly forward never looking back,
Towards a distant bright light, the most beautiful color and glorious sound.

Artbattles Styudy Group Session/ 04-28-09

This piece was created in about 2 hrs. with artists+ 101nine,A1,JohnSmalls,and myself. We where practicing composition and giving sections to each artists to work their personal strengths. Given we used four different artists whom never worked together, the piece turned out pretty good with a few lacking sections do to time. I enjoy working in this atmosphere because it helps me deal with communicating and exchanging with the other artists when I can really be introverted and to myself when it comes to painting.

New Work In Progress - not sure about this one yet, but it is moving in another direction.

This painting is in it's draft stages, I was able to lay down the face, getting the features in there right places. I want the background to become the foreground and act as the woman's thoughts or aura, so far it feels a little dark but when I go in on the colors I think the feelings with change dramatically.

ELEVATORS NETWORKING EVENT - SLY ART/Diirty jenius

The final piece inspired by the good peoples at Diirty Jenius | Their motto: INSPIRE:STIMULATE:CHANGE. Kalae All Day (most amazing performer/artist) and the incredible Tina T' of D'Jenius holding up "the painting representing change".

From finish to start here is the painting I rocked at Sundays event. Thank you to everyone who came out to support and see what was going on. The work is moving forward and i'm in the final stages of putting together the materials to bomb every gallery on the planet! Stay tuned... and blessings.

Shout to Marcus of Diirty Jenius and the homie 101Nine for holding things down and taking some dope flics as the event unfolded too.

Oldschool flic - Marvin G.

Found this flic from working on the Marvin painting this past fall and just wanted to put it up. Working in the studio is therapy, the same way I dance and don't have to think about anything else in this world is the feeling gained while listening to my music and pushing paint around. This photo captures the warmth of my studio 100% - chuuuuuch!

COME CHECK ME PAINT THIS SUNDAY 2-6pm SlyArt Gallery space

WAS WORKING ON THIS EARLIER, YOU CAN SEE THE CHANGE FROM MY OLDER POST.
This Sunday I will be painting both garment and canvas art at a networking event driven by the homies' at SLYART gallery space NYC. Working with "Dirty Jeenius" i've splashed some paint on tees connected and inspired by canvas paintings. This will be a very dope Sunday afternoon.

Help me name this painting - Almost done (progress)

So I started this piece a minute ago as a follow-up to a painting I did back in 01-02 era called "The Alchemist" inspired by the novel written by Paulo Coelho. I've decided after hours upon hours of staring at it...the title has to be right on for this one. I really can't wait to see how it looks once it's stretched but I have a few more sessions until it's done. Lemme know what you see? Peace and enjoy the weekend.

Newest Painting - Libations 04/09/09 - I Love This One - "Odessa Spirit"

Wow, all I can say is thank you to everyone who is supporting me and digging this work. Lastnights live painting at "Libations" @ Sullivan Room NYC w/ DJ Ian Friday and promoter ManchildBlack turned out to be one of my personal favorites. The painting is approx. 48x60 I (I think) and I completed it in about 1hr and 20 min. I feel a beautiful energy of creativity and passion building day by day and am thankful I can grow infront all those who are paying attention to my progress. I named the painting after my big homie "Bdiddy's" granny who past away this past week, she truly had a beautiful energy and a way about her that was comforting and loving. I hope this painting incompases some of these elements. Stay tuned for much more to come and I apologize for not updating things lately it's just been a bit hectic but I assure you I have "Buku" sh* for you all. The world is a playground. Oh' lemme know what you thank too, it really helps. -Ccep

Make it count - Writing this from a spiritual place with family.

In time we realize that our reality can be different than the next persons. I mean it's important to be a part of a big social network, move towards ones goals and aspirations, stay connected, focussed etc. etc. But at times the world needs to hear your inner voice. That voice of uncertainty, the questions we might have, the true to life feelings we may deal with day to day. Sometimes I think damn,..."is anybody out there saying what's really on thier mind"? I find myself in real situations, some reflecting beauty, some reflecting mystery, and even darkness but my realist experiences are those I'm trying to get closest too. These are the things that put color to paintings, give words to songs, and bring the spirit to the physical... I just say all this in hopes that we take time to be real with ourselves and others. Your the only one who can judge (you), you are the only one who cares what the next person has to say or does againgst you. So I challenge you to be real with yourself and speak the truest' words to those truest' to you. I hope we all make it in this game of life but today I realize for sure "we are here today and gone tomorrow" so let's make it count. I sit here and realize this place amazes me, this time, whatever I can do here I will do with passion and leave fear for those who choose to walk with it... Thanks 4 reading. -Ccep
