I tried to loosin' up lastnight and didn't use any acrylic white...I forgot it and had gesso. The gesso gave the paint a real wet unattached look, none of the colors fully blended but this concept sprung up from me thinking about the recession I guess. You know in a sense we are all in line for something, something big to happen, that rescue package, bailouts, the future etc. So in this painting i'm saying it's allgood to wait our turn, there is clear direction, uncertainty, patience, challenge, all these things,...thus the phrase at the upper rt corner reading "Things Will Come In Time". Share your thoughts if you have any, a stark difference from my live work two weeks ago.

I got a sense of institutionalism and social conditioning by "the powers that be". "The line", is led by those who could care less about the needs of the people(Change will soon come, GO OBAMA!!!), And even though, we are all blessed with faith, we are still clueless about where we are heading or our purposes in life. So we continue to set goals and strive for what we think we should do or say. But at times(more often than not) we are forced to say, think, react, and believe how/what we feel by various mechanisms of control(i.e TV, religion, materialism, and hate). I got a sense of hope(cliche, I know) from the imagery of the color selctions.
They (the colors)forced me to step back, and refoucus my intents and aspirations before all sense of realism and REALITY is lost. Also, there's a great history lesson in this piece. The line is moving (in my opinion) away from "the Power(s) that be"; Personally for me, "The Great Migration" = Change = Liberation= I hate the lingering archaic mind-state of South Carolina, Go DC!!!!!!

my specific discipline of creation...(builds internal equity..?) So here goes!... This piece shows
me a visual representation for The Law of Attraction...The "Secret" and/or
bare/minimalistic alchemy. The constant of the three is the basic idea of manifesting
something into existence: the variable is the path taken. "I speak therefore I am" (I see it therefore it is). The beginning
of this journey/piece is making an absolute decision and the premature excitement that comes with
the fantasy one envisions. This beginning depicts a grounded, solid, bottom-line, [down-
to-earth] self-realization hence, your color choices. It then demonstrates the time taken before we actually
act on our aspirations -planning, haste, waste, physical, financial or other [inevitable]circumstances.
The progression of the piece shows the Persistency of the Mind (Pun totally intended...pour some liquor for my
dead homie, Dali), the parallels between fantasy and "reality" the steps taken in this pursuit. It illustrates
trial and error, loss and gain the refusal of "no" and all the obstacles that stand in the way of progress. It's
a bumpy path, but a path nonetheless. It all begins with a thought that transpires into tangible "reality".
This is a metaphysical depiction of relentless possibility. "You don't have to see the whole staircase, just
take the first step" -Martin Luther King.
